My initial meetings with John Drew were professional and timely and John listened carefully to my request. The design and budget were agreed upon and the work began. I found John and his team to be the most professional group of contractors I’ve ever employed. Always, on time, kept the work area clean and clutter free and the project was completed on time and on budget. Always keeping an open mind, John was willing to make changes to the original plan, documented the changes and had me sign off on each one, ensuring no ambiguity or confusion. I was especially appreciative of this attention to detail. And the attention to detail didn’t stop there, as evident in the final product. When looking for someone to remodel our master bathroom, a friend recommended John Drew. She said he was reliable, knowledgeable, creative, on time, precise, neat and extremely easy to work with. We hired John to remodel our master bathroom and make it beautiful, as well as usable and safe for a handicapped family member. He achieved both objectives beyond our expectations. Drew Construction has done many different projects for us over the past few years. Completely remodeled two bathrooms, replaced our circular asphalt driveway with concrete, including a new water line to house from meter, new storage cabinets, wall- texturing and flooring in the basement, remodeled the washroom, cabinets and flooring. Installed recessed lighting in the living room, dining room and family room along with highlights for pictures. Installed pullouts in the kitchen cabinets. John worked with us for several weeks as we discussed the different designs, fixtures, locations and all options that I’m sure of anyone could think of. He always came back promptly with answers for a multitude of changes. When the construction started, they always cleaned up everyday, allowed us to do the tasks that we had chosen to do ourselves, offered suggestions and gave us plenty if tune to make changes in the design. Drew Construction Inc. remodeled our kitchen/dining area completely and also did two entire bathroom remodels in a six week time frame. We were absolutely thrilled with the quality of the “workmanship and the professional courtesy” not only of Mr. Drew, but of his entire staff and also his sub-contractors. Most people are satisfied with the outcome of their remodel, but how many are satisfied with the actual process? That is what is so unique about Drew Construction-they have a process and timeline in place that makes it manageable or dare we say even enjoyable (!!) for the customer to go through a home remodel. John takes what we know can be a daunting and overwhelming prospect and breaks it down into a manageable step-by-step plan including work schedule, payments due, and when and where you need to pick out required bid materials including what your budget restraints are. The helpful expertise of John Drew began as he listened to our hoped for changes in the existing kitchen, and from his initial design which incorporated these dreams by translating them into the plans and creation of a beautifully crafted oak kitchen and dining area. From the smallest desk work space to the specially designed and individually crafted oak sideboard displaying antique and collector glass. John “listened, designed, and worked to create” specially unique pieces that met the demands of pre-existing conditions. Drew Construction planned, prepared, conducted and completed what I regard as a major but unusual project in my home: the remodeling of my three-car garage so that it can be readily converted for use as an all-weather meeting place for substantial number of persons, but such that it can, just as readily, be returned to use as a garage for motor vehicles. Every remodeling project requires persistent and consistent attention by the remodeler to the overall objective and to the smallest of details-and that attention, I’ve learned, is Mr. Drew’s regular stock and trade. In addition, however, this project required creativity and imagination, both of which Mr. Drew amply provided, to overcome some quite difficult challenges. The result has been “ooohs” and “aaahs” from many who have seen what he accomplished. Drew Construction undertook other remodeling projects for me, too-of lesser scale, but not with less precision on their part. Everything that John said he would do, he did. He caused the work to be done exactly as we agreed it would be done except in one respect: in those instances in which what we had agreed upon turned out to be infeasible because of concealed characteristics of my home about which he couldn’t have known, he went the extra mile to overcome the problem, either to make it feasible after all or provide an alternative solution. Mr. Drew does not shirk responsibility, he fulfills it. He does not make excuses, he avoids the necessity. He does not cut corners, he has a craftsman’s pride in his work and reputation. He does not ignore the owner once the contract is signed; he treats the owner as a colleague in decision-making as the work proceeds. He does not dominate the home; he is mindful of the owner’s private space. Would use his services again? Unquestionably! SC
